Monitoring
System for Conveyor Process Control
The Madison Electric Monitoring System is an ideal set-up
for cut-off operations. Just enter the appropriate length
on our Model ADT-840 programmable Totalizing Counter.
Two control outputs can be assigned to the totalizer
that can automatically recycle at the batch or stay
latched until reset. When coupled with our Quadrature
Cube Encoder, the unit can either add or subtract two
inputs or display two inputs as separate totalizers.
The system includes a Unidirectional or Quadrature Cube
Encoder, a Digital Rate Meter or Counter, a Circumference
Wheel, and a Pivot Bracket.

| Optical
Encoders
Encoders provide an accurate means of digitizing position,
rate, or direction of rotation. Cube, Thru Bore, and
Industrial Shaft Optical Encoders convert input shaft
rotation to square wave output pulses. Options include
unidirectional or quadrature models with up to 30,000
pulses per revolution.
Standard mounting styles available are flex, servo,
or flange. Standard thru bore encoders are available
that fit shaft sizes from 0.250" to 1.875"
diameter. Metric shaft sizes available range from 4mm
to 14mm.

Hand
Held Tachometers
The best of both worlds! Madison Electric’s Model
AHT-3 is a combination hand held tachometer. The operator
has the option of using a non-contact light emitting
detector on one end or a contact shaft on the opposite
end to measure RPM or surface speed (FPM or MPM).
Model AHT-3 allows quality control and maintenance individuals
to verify that their process line and motors are running
smoothly and correctly. The quartz crystal time base
provides the accuracy of a stand-alone unit without
requiring frequent calibrations.

Liquid
Level Switches
Vertical Liquid Level Switches that can be mounted from the
top or bottom of a tank are readily available and stocked
in both miniature and full-size versions. Madison also provides
a line of Side-Mounted Switches in which the switch is inserted
through the wall of the tank or vessel.
Choose from 316SS (high temp; corrosive conditions), Polypropylene
(acidic conditions), Brass and Buna-N (lubricating oils, gasoline
and diesel fuel), Kynar (chemical & solvent resistant),
and PBT with Buna-N floats (low cost alternative to Brass
& Buna-N).

AC
Tach Generators
AC
Generators provide a voltage output proportional to
input speed and are a simple and reliable means of generating
AC Voltage. Maintenance free with solid state circuitry,
no outside power source is required. Many mounting configurations
are available.
Standard size is 3" round. Maximum output voltage
is 90VAC @ 1000 RPM. Speed range from 50 to 8000 RPM.

NEMA
C-Face and Metric IEC Ring Tachometers
Monitor motor speed with encoder quality and
performance at a fraction of the price. The Madison Electric
Ring Tachometer is a convenient method of mounting a magnetic
pickup on a NEMA C-Face or IEC Metric Motor. Designed to fit
between a motor and gearbox, clutch, brake, etc. without the
need for an auxiliary shaft. Built tough to last in harsh
industrial environments. The Madison Electric Ring Tachometer
withstands shock, dirt and vibrations that stop most optical
encoders.
Unidirectional or quadrature models are available in NEMA
and Metric sizes. Standard gear sizes include 10, 30, 60,
120, 200 & 240 PPR. Custom sizes available.

| Magnetic
Speed Sensors
Madison
Electric manufactures a complete line of active and
passive magnetic speed sensors. Choose from a wide selection
of maintenance free, stainless steel threaded and non-threaded
sizes. Madison Electric magnetic speed sensors work
well in oily, dusty environments. The Hall effect zero
speed sensors are orientation insensitive, provide short
circuit protection, and true zero speed sensing. Analog
speed sensors are passive sensors and do not require
any external power source.
Let Madison Electric create a custom speed sensor designed
for your specific requirement.

Zero
Line Speed Switches
Designed to detect zero speed or any speed up to 2300
RPM and then either make or break a circuit when the
pre-set limit is reached. The circuit can then be connected
to sound an alarm, light a warning light, activate accessory
machinery or completely shut down the processing equipment.
The speed set point can be factory pre-set or easily
field adjusted using a flat blade screwdriver and a
tachometer.
A Madison Electric Zero Line Speed Switch is the ideal
solution for many OEM processing problems including
under-speed, over-speed or zero-speed detection.

| F/V
Converter
The frequency to voltage module from Madison Electric
allows you to convert a DC pulse train or AC frequency
signal into a linearly proportional 0-10 DC Voltage.
The F/V module accepts signals from Madison Electric
encoders, magnetic pick ups, ring tachometers or a variety
of frequency output devices. The F/V module interfaces
with most programmable controllers or microprocessors.
Applications include analog indication, speed sensing
or any closed or open loop control system that requires
a DC voltage relative to frequency.
